I would advise anyone interested in the medical field to aggressively pursue this material.Clear,concise and very compelling.The pictures are of great value,as,I am more of the visual type.Mastering the spelling is my next great challenge,as,I am interested in a medical transcriptionist career.My next book from her will be,"the Language of Medicine",which I have already encountered through a CRNFA relative.Very well written,as well.

My friend Hannah used this text for her class, and she really found it to be very useful. She reports, "I think that this book does a great job of giving all kinds of medical terms and the definitions, along with descriptions of diseases, symptoms, body parts, and systems. A couple things I found most helpful was all the definitions of all the medical terms, and how simply they phrased the definitions. It was not long and complicated to understand. Another thing I liked were the graphics and the pictures that showed what the diseases looked like. For example, when talking about bone structures the book gave great pictures referencing and the locations and the names of the bones. The book is very clearly organized. In the purple boxes were the diseases that went along with the chapters. The chapters were very well organized and explained everything in detail. One very important thing I found really helpful was how, in the beginning of the book, the pre-fixes and suffixes were given definitions and an example of how each one contributes meaning in a technical term. In the back of the book it also had all the prefixes and suffixes. With this dual reference,you could access it easily. I found this book really helpful to me in my course. It helped me get good grades by making studying easier and more effective! I would recommend this book to anyone studying medical terms and diseases."

Sweet Young Fantasy Love

Sweet albeit slightly predictable. Ashton Grace Winslow wants a fun road trip with her BBF LuLu to get away from her controlling politician father. Her father hires ex-soldier, now PI, Dane Woods to follow her. They find love on the road while thinking they are withholding their true identities from each other. The first half of the book details their trip and how they fall in love. The second half deals with the events once back home and the obstacles preventing them from being together.

Dane is honorable, trying to do what’s best by everyone he cares about. Grace is a little na�ve. (A vacation fling that won’t tell you his real name or give you his phone number so screamed married man or total player or worst case--criminal. Grace was incredibility lucky she’s a book character. In real life it wouldn’t have worked out the way it did.) Still it’s a cute, sweet story—one you root for the pair to make it work. There’s steam between them in most love scenes, others are brushed over. There’s enough drama to the story to keep it interesting but nothing ridiculous or over the top.

Grammatically the text could benefit from a good proofreading. Some punctuation issues as well as capitalization confusion (example: Civil War was not capitalized even though it was referring to the American Civil War; Army brothers was capitalized even though army is simply used as an adjective not referring to a specific army in that sentence.) At one point their suggested trip from Nashville to Miami is referenced as taking 9 hours??? The distance between those two cities is more than that.

HEA. No cliffhanger. Very complete epilogue. Alternating 1st person POV between Dane and Grace.

LOVED IT!

I absolutely loved this story. Whats not to love about sexy war vet Dane (Woody) Woods? He's a little broken, like most war vets are but nothing Ashton can't fix. After spending just a short amount of time with her he realizes she is not the spoiled little rich girl he thought she was when growing up. He tries to fight the attraction, but she draws him in. She falls for the hansom stranger she met on her road trip but what will she think of him when she finds out the truth about who he really is? It's a wonderful journey that won't disappoint you. And no cliff hanger :)

How does this make any sense

Why is it being sold for a crap load and how do they have hard copies for Barnes and noble website showed they are only selling paper back copies and why is itnup bloody expensive when it barely just came out. I have been waiting for a very long time for this book to come out and this is what gets pulled on us that's bulls***

Hopeful Realist makes Plea

I was out ill last summer & missed the release of this in hardback, so it was jarring to see that the edition was released in so severely limited of a printing that we are now at the ridiculous price of $4500.00 plus. Really??? I hope that I can get this in a nice paperback this year; I feel penalized for being ill, not a good feeling for a fan of this graphic novel sequence. Please, Ms. Meyers, see to it that this is released in a nice paperback edition for your fans.

About the Author
Amy Johnson holds a B.A. in Physics Teaching from Brigham Young University and an M.A. in Physics Education from Smith College. She currently serves as the Director of Science Services for Massachusetts' Mass Math + Science Initiative (MMSI). She has been teaching Physics for more than 10 years at both the high school and college levels.

As a teacher for Northampton (Mass.) High School, Ms. Johnson worked to expand the AP® Physics program to include both AP® Physics B and C. Apart from broadening the program, she also helped students achieve success in their physics education and preparation for college.

Ms. Johnson has also taught Physics for Middle School Science Teachers at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She is the recipient of the Harold Grinspoon New Teacher of the Year Award, as well as the National Math and Science Initiative Science Teacher of the Year Award.

The Best AP Physics 1 Book

In the words of my son...

This book was a true life saver for me for the AP Physics 1 Exam. My class course did not properly prepare me for the exam, and I lacked enough knowledge of a lot of what I should have known. I did not think that a book with so few calculations would be useful, but in fact it was the opposite, since it turns out that there are little to no calculations on the AP Physics 1 Exam. This book goes through step by step explanations of every topic covered on the exam, and stresses points that are vital for understanding, and will likely appear on the exam. I really felt like I was being taught the class just by reading the book. Also, the book points to various equations which are not on the given equation sheet, but are still incredibly useful and often necessary for using on the exam.

The online practice test was also pretty good, but a little bit inconvenient since I prefer being able to write on the exam. Also, chapter 11 on waves and sounds has very confusing and contradicting information which is entirely different from other books.

Other than that, this book was the best book that I have used, and helped me earn a 4 on the AP exam, despite not being properly taught in class.
