The QRI-6 measures comprehension in several ways that allow an examiner to label a passage as familiar or unfamiliar to each student: by analyzing the student’s retelling or summarization; by looking at the student’s answers to explicit and implicit comprehension questions; through the answers to complex inference questions recommended by the Common Core State Standards; through the use of look-backs, which separate what readers remember from what they comprehend; and through the use of think-alouds at the sixth grade level and above to analyze the student’s thoughts during reading. About the Author

Lauren Leslie is Professor Emerita at Marquette University where she directed the Hartman Literacy and Learning Center for over a decade. In addition to the Qualitative Reading Inventory she has published two other books with JoAnne Caldwell, both published by Pearson: The Content Area Reading Assessment: A formative measure of the Common Core State Standards (Pearson, 2015), and Intervention Strategies to Follow an Informal Reading Inventory: So what should we do now? (Pearson, 2013). She has published over 20 research articles and received (with Linda Allen) the Albert J. Harris Research Award from the International Reading Association in 2001. She also received the Bielefeld Award for Professional Achievement in teaching, research, and mentoring of women faculty and students at Marquette University in 2006.

JoAnne Schudt Caldwell is currently Professor Emerita at Cardinal Stritch University. She is co-author of Content Area Reading Assessment: A Formative Measure of the Common Core State Standards, Intervention Strategies to Follow Informal Reading Assessment; So What Do I Do Now? and Reading Problems: Assessment and Teaching Strategies. She is the author of Reading Assessment: A Primer for Teachers in the Common Core Era and Comprehension Assessment: A Classroom Guide. She received her PhD from Marquette University and in 2005 received an Achievement Award from that institution.

The directions in this book are easy to follow

I'm excited to use QRI to help identify the struggling readers in my classroom. The data provided will help me target my instruction to meet the needs of the students. The directions in this book are easy to follow. The online access makes it quite easy to print the forms needed for assessment as well. Since I'm new to QRI, the audio samples provide online are very helpful too.

not detailed enough to include all the information you need, not broad enough to cover all subjects, put into a book that is too small to see clearly. pointlessly small when it sits in your desk not your pocket. All seems a bit pointless.

Maybe useful if trying to engineer something in the field with no internet access. only positive I could think of.

This is a wonderful source for learning more on the fixed stars in ones natal and solar chart readings, it brings forth the energies which are not typically recognized when one has a reading completed. Along with the descriptions, it brings about a deeper understanding into what the fixed stars mean when in specific constellations which too has never been written. I recommend this to anyone who does readings or is just interested in understanding the cosmos on a deeper level.

A GOOD ADDITION TO YOUR ASTROLOGICAL LIBRARY

I bought this book because (1) there is little in the marketplace on this topic other than Bernadette Brady and (2) while I think Bernadette Brady's book is useful, I find its organization rather convoluted. I thinik Robson's earlier book provides a streamlined and more accessible companion to Brady. Having said that, it appears that much of the standard interpretation of fixed stars derives from Ptolemy's Tetrabiblos, and I've also found it useful to go back to this source.

Great book for anyone working in IT.

I've been in IT for almost 20 years now and just about all of the books are pie in the sky theory and cut and paste methodologies that don't work in an actual deployment.
(Why didn't I give this book 5 stars? I would've like some "anatomy of a failure" type lessons learned. But I would've given it 4 1/2 stars if possible.)

This book eschews the theory and talks about what needs to be done to put a service into a production environment and keep it up and running. If you're looking for some great guidelines as to what needs to be done to get a product up and running, this is the book.

As a software test professional, I make a plea to my testing colleagues to get this book. There needs to be more focus on the non-functional aspects of putting a service into an operational state and so little testing is done these days with that in mind.

For developers, it provides a good list of tips for making a system much more responsive with regards to status and reporting in a production environment. Great reminders for Devs to build a system that works in the environment to which it will be deployed.

I have been able to effectively utilize the concepts in this book to improve my overall troubleshooting capabilities.
