This book, in turn consists of eight essays that summarize the relavant research in critical areas such advertising, program content, how children learn from TV, health aspects and of course violence. The essays are written by individuals who are recognized experts in their fields.

This book has been in preparation for about ten years and represents the net result of reviewing more than 2,000 research papers published in the United States. It describes the nature of the research that has been conducted as well as their findings. It also discusses, in many cases, the effects of what the findings discovered are also mentioned.

Finally there is a complete bibliography of the research reports included in the book and on a CD supplied with the book.

Bought for 60, class the book uses Python 3 my class uses Python 2 sold it for 5 bucks. Got a free netted myself -$55 profit

Uses Python 3 - Do NOT buy this before talking to your prof - or if this is for fun - just download the freem O'reilly version. I bought for like 60 bucks, turns out Python 3 isn't big yet, and went to sell this back to the school and they offered my 5 bucks.

Also, if you know ANY programming - this is worthless. One of those overly verbose tomes that take like 20 pages to say something that can be said in a about 5. Better off using youtube. Totally worthless.

If you have never used a computer before you may get some value out of it, but there are much better intro texts on the market.

If you know any C++ or Java, or even javascript for that matter you will learn nothing from this text.
