It was brilliant with sinners at every turn

Let the sinning commence. The only sin I can think of is not reading this book. It was brilliant with sinners at every turn. The mother, the neighbour, the friend. September and Jesse's world is full of them. Two people that love each other with everything they have end up not being able to have what they most want in the world, each other.
Now if you've read book one in this fantastic series, you are not going to be able to put this book down.
Yes it's a complicated relationship but you tell me what relationships aren't. Forget who's related to who, there is no crime here, only love.
September is at college, meeting new friends, working hard and missing Jesse terribly. Jesse is working hard, ignoring the wife LOL, it's only on paper people, the woman abandon them all years ago, let's not forget. He is trying to forget all about September and failing miserably. He will always love her, that much is very clear.
The grandparents of September and Scout are desperate for Jesse and Sarah, formally known as Libby, to rekindle their love and give the marriage a second chance. Pfffft not in this life time. Sarah would jump at the chance but no way is Jesse that stupid. He is a caring, loving man but he no longer feels anything for her, she's Scout's mother and that's it.
September hates her mother with a passion and in all honesty she has valid reasons. I don't think she will ever forgive her.
God knows what the neighbour Casey is up to now, befriending Sarah, that woman wants Jesse all to herself, HA! another big fat NO. I think they are all forgetting one very important detail here, he's found real love and when that happens nothing can compare. So all the women that seem to be in heat around Jesse need to take a cold shower and quick. I just had mine haha!! Seriously the man is HOT!!
Them rip off your clothes moments melted my panties. He's got everything any woman would want in a man, hard working, great father, helps around the house, fun to be with, caring, loving, pleasing to the eyes and an exceptional lover. What more could a girl want? Oh yeah for him to divorce his wife, that might help.
September has yet another secret and Jesse is about to find out, giving September no option but to do as he says. Dominant Jesse is in the house, I love it.
Bless Scout she's a great kid, probably knows a lot more than she should but that's life. Sometimes it's best to be open and honest because you want your children to do the same.
September may have ended but the love in this story will last a life time. Happy smiles all round for a fantastic ending. I am now looking to see what other books this Author has written as her writing is off the charts epic. I recommend you pick up a book by Andrea Smith today. Thank you for once again for another awesome book.

This was a good sequel about Jessie and September's love story there was a lot of angst in this book and very emotional I was sweating there for awhile but love knows no bounds love doesn't see age or circumstance it just is and you can really see the love that these 2 had for each other definitely a beautiful HEA to this series well done Greyson :)

Carla's Five Star Review for When September Ends. If you have not read the first book in this series, Until September, you need to do that before reading this one to avoid confusion.

When September's mother reappears, September's world is thrown into a tailspin. Her mother is in Mississippi at her grandparent's home, and Jesse decides to take Scout, September's half sister, to see her. However, September refuses to go. While Jesse and Scout are gone, September moves out. This leads to a lot of confusion and pain for everyone involved. In the midst of dealing with his estranged wife along with September's grandparent's disapproval of his relationship with their granddaughter, Jesse must decide if their relationship is worth fighting for.

I was really excited to read more of Jesse and September's love story! I love the alternating pov's in this book because we got to see just what Jesse was thinking and feeling. I also hated Casey, the neighbor, and was so glad to see Jesse finally put her in her place! If you loved Until September as much as I did, you are sure to love this follow up! Brilliant work, Andrea!!

Very user friendly guide with loads of examples, exercises and explanations that make sense to me as a parent.

I just finished this book and I'm actually feeling very hopeful. There's been a lot in the news lately about teen depression, adult children living off their parents & gratitude as it relates to physical and emotional health. This book covers the gamut of current parent concerns complete with solutions and there's research to back it up. I also could really tell that these two authors do the work with kids and families. Seems that every other book I've read on similar topics was written by scientists who offer theories that aren't always tested in the field. The hope I feel comes from the fact that I think I can actually take action on what the authors are recommending. I have three kids between 6-13 and entitlement is scattered too frequently through our house.

What a great insight shared from the view point of Psychologists that actually know what they are talking about. Every parent out there, especially those who are dealing with their 'entitled' children, should get a copy of this book and read it from cover to cover and then implement their advise.

Parents & Grandparents - A Shift in Parenting

Entitled children become entitled adults - you bet. I see it all the time with friend's adult families and how the problem perpetuates with their parenting. This is not a "fault" condition because we all parrot what we know and that reference point is family history and the emotional connection we have to this strong tie. I digress - and point if your adult child:
feels you are their bank
abuses you emotionally
does not treat you with respect or consideration
lands all their problems on your lap
is unhappy most of the time
has a drug or alcohol problem
has unreasonable expectations of others
blames others for their misfortune
is not helpful to others around them
is not a well liked person
This same adult will pass on all of the above plus to their children. Never to late to try and change - pass this book around, and read it yourself as it may open your eyes where you made mistakes in your parenting and what you can do to turn your adult child around - and maybe change your family history to one of gratitude & kindness for others to emulate. Maybe sooner or later, we will reinforce communal change, making for a more civilized society.
I believe this book will help parents and grandparents everywhere and I plan giving this "starter" book to new Mom's & Dad's. It's a gift that can "keep giving."

This is an excellent book on the global church

This is an excellent book on the global church. Excellent personal accounts from people all over the world who are serving Christ in areas where the church is persecuted. Very relevant with great insight into the fundamental truths of what it means to be a church. My husband and I like to read books like this together and discuss them. The questions at the end of the chapter for small groups are a great way for us to have that quality discussion time. I highly recommend this book for anyone who has been simply going to church for a long time and needs a fresh perspective on how God wants to impact your life through the church.

REALLY enjoyed this book!

This is the best Christian book I have read in years. It has helped me understand better the letters to the churches in Revelation, and also to apply the truths in these letters to my own life and church. There are also some really good discussion questions for small groups at the end of each chapter.
I rarely read the book of Revelation as I find it hard to understand\figure out--but after reading The Resistance, and knowing that I can apply the letters to the churches in Revelation more practically in my life, I will be reading it more often.
